Baseball / Softball

LYA Baseball Camps are pleased to continue our relationship with All Star Baseball Academy (ASBA - Owen by Jim Freeman) for the 2008 summer season. This years camps will be directed by Creighton Gubanich former major league player with the Boston Red Socks.

Interestly, Creighton first hit in the major leagues was a full count Grand Slam, making him the 4th player in major league history to accomplish that feat. Creighton and the ASBA staff form one of the areas premier baseball instructional organizations. LYA Summer camps is excited to have the ASBA staff bring their unique approach to baseball instruction to LYA Summer Camps! (Camp will feature Sr./Jr. HS coaches and local college players in conjuction with ASBA staff.)

Soccer

These camps focus on dribbling, passing, shooting, heading, and trapping. Each day is comprised of group drills and scrimmages to foster teamwork, as well as individual instruction and skills. Staff will include a variety of local coaches, college players and current high school team members. Sign-up early, these camps fill-up quickly. (price - date/time)

Lacrosse

LYA again is in the process of putting together a GREAT instructional Lacrosse camp lead by some of the top area coaches supported by local college and HS players. The past several years camp Directors have included Tom Slate, DHS East coach and President of LAX Evolution and for the Girls Courtney Trego a DHS West coach. LYA looks forward to another fantastic summer of Lacrosse instruction, games and sportsmanship. Be a part of the fun and learning.

Golf at Rossi's Golf & Sports Center

Our golf program is offered to campers between 1st and 8th grade. Directed by Kathryn Yard, one of the all-time best golfers at both D.H.S. and James Madison University, campers will start with grip and stance building towards a solid swing. Chipping, pitching and putting will be covered. This camp is in conjunction with Rossi’s Golf & Sports Center. LYA Camps thanks Rossi’s for their support and cooperation. (price - date/time)

Football

This camp provides a non-contact learning environment focused on skills, strategy, teamwork, and techniques. Staff will be comprised of local area coaches and high school players. Campers will work on all aspects of the game ranging from throwing, catching, kicking, positioning, and basic game knowledge. (price - date/time)

Basketball

Our staff of coaches emphasize skill development such as shooting, passing, catching, and defensive positioning. Past staff members and guest lecturers have included: Mike Young, former D-Town & W.C.U. player, current Spring-Ford H.S. coach; Meghan Wilkinson, player at LaSalle University; Dan Massimini, fomer D.H.S stand-out; and Doug Kaiser, former U. of Scranton & U. of Massachusetts coach. Field Hockey

Field hockey camp will focus on skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and team spacing. The afternoon time period is spent implementing the morning instruction into games. Staff includes Kathryn Yard, former D.H.S. player and current asst. coach at Henderson H.S. and Meghan Brophy, former D.H.S. All-League player and current Gettysburg player. (price - date/time)

Cheerleading

All girls interested in cheerleading are invited to enjoy a week of camp focused on spirit, fun and teamwork. Instruction will be broken down into stations where dance steps, cheers/chants, rhythm and simple tumbling moves will be taught and practiced. Campers will be given the opportunity to help create their own cheers and routines. Come on out and join us for this year’s LYA Cheerleading Camp and show your team spirit! All Sports Camps

This new week of camp will provide all athletes between grades 1st thru 8th the opportunity to explore and learn a variety of different sports. Each day campers will be introduced to a different sport and/or skill associated with a major seasonal sport (Baseball/Softball, Basketball, Soccer, Boys Football/Girls Lacrosse). Campers will be grouped by age and ability as they play games or receive instruction. This camp will focus on FUN, TEAM WORK, and SPORTSMANSHIP. (price - date/time)
